Grandma’s Closet

We received an elated text message at the office this week from one of our happy customers. Below are some pictures of the flexible LED tape lighting install that was done in this happy grandmother’s pantry.

The whole project only took an hour. Needless to say Grandma had some help with getting things taken care of but now she’s upset she didn’t have lights added to that closet sooner.

The FlexiDaisy mount will ensure that the LED tape doesn’t sag if the glue fails over time and the flexibility of the mount allowed for installing the entire run in one strip simplifying the whole process so that no tools were needed except a stapler and scissors. It can’t get much simpler than that!

We’re very happy that you are enjoying your newly illuminated pantry.

How many kits can be run together?

TLDR: 32 feet, with 12 volt system using 150 or 300 LED tape.

The issue that always seems to come up with LED tape lighting is; “How many strips can be run together?”

Searching around on the internet doesn’t present a simple answer. Especially because there are reels with 300 LEDs and reels with only 150 LEDs. Surely if two reels of 300 LEDs can be run on a single 5 amp power supply 4 reels of 150 LEDs should be able to run on the same set up, but that’s not quite how it works.

This shows the dimming brightness of these blue LEDs as the number of strips is increased. Reels used are 150 LEDs on 16.3 feet of tape.

As the length of the LED run grows the brightness of the LEDs furthest from the power supply will decrease due to internal losses no matter how much power is supplied. Our recommendation is to keep your install lengths under 32 feet (2 reels) then bump the brightness back up using an amplifier. This will allow longer runs without noticeable dimming. Another option to go further without amplifiers is to work with a higher voltage which we will talk about next time.

Happy New Year

Happy 12017 everyone!

Here at FlexiDaisy we wanted to send you some well wishes for the coming year. We’re already hard at work on our future plans for the year. We’ve got a couple of big projects in the works for some larger scale LED illumination projects.

Daisy was very excited to help out when we started measuring out this 85 ft of LED mounting hardware for a pool project upcoming in Florida.

We’ve put in an order for 1500 ft of flexible mounting channel with our manufacturer and we shipped out a big box of LEDs and hardware to a home in Florida. We can’t wait to see how their project turns out and hopefully share it with you.

What Are You Thankful For?

A fine feast to share with friends.
A fine feast to share with friends.

It’s that time of year again everyone! Time to go see family and share a good meal with each other. Hope you didn’t forget to chip in and do the dishes afterwards. My family has a tradition of taking turns around the table to talk about what you’re thankful for. This year the answer was easy.

I’m thankful that we started FlexiDaisy, and I’m proud how far we’ve come in such a short period of time.

We’re looking forward to many more years of being thankful to bring you high quality flexible LED mounting channels.
